Implications of Watershed Management Practices on Water Availability Using Hydrus-1D Model in the Aba Gerima Watershed, Upper Blue Nile Basin, Ethiopia

The main objective of this study was to examine the implications watershed management (WSM) on hydrological parameters in Aba Gerima Upper Blue Nile Basin. Hydrus 1D model simulations were conducted control sites and under WSM estimate various components hydrologic cycle, using different soil physical & data each category experimental sites. Results calibrated with measured moisture through inverse solutions. Thus, found be effective predicting results, R2 values 0.73 0.853 RMSE ranging from 0.015 0.04. cumulative evaporation estimated for 365 days 37.6% higher than that WSM. Surface bottom fluxes 4.6% 12.5%, respectively, This could attributed increased water availability resulting implemented practices Gerima, results can used as empirical evidence positive availability. Finally, should strengthened by concerned bodies development partners all watersheds, especially where is affected severe land degradation.
